Paragraph 84 Landscape Architecture - MJM STUDIO

Project - The GROWING HOUSE, Longridge Lancashire. PARAGRAPH 84 Landscape Architecture.

Our most recent Paragraph 84 landscape design project was passed by Places Matter in 2023 achieving an independently verified 39.56% biodiversity net gain on the site.

The proposed landscape design enhances existing habitats whilst improving biodiversity across the site.

Working closely with architect David Jackson-Crane we have created a landscape masterplan, planting design and horticultural management plan that will see the introduction of a micro-forest, a restored hay meadow and interior glasshouse for ecological restoration.

The design will extend upon existing hedgerow networks with the introduction of a drystone gabion network benefitting existing habitats on the site using recycled / excavated materials harvested during construction.

We have designed a process of ecological restoration across the site which involves collecting seed from the site including plant species that have been lost or are in decline locally.  We will then cultivate them in a purpose built Glasshouse facility within the confines of the house.

As landscape architects and ecologists MJM STUDIO can achieve the best chance of achieving planning permission utilising the PARA 84 framework.

We are now consulting with developers, architects and self builders nationwide looking to achieve planning consent on sensitive or difficult sites.

"Michael of MJM Studio has been instrumental to gaining planning permission on my project. His industry knowledge and anticipation of what was required have delivered a scheme which fulfils all the requirements of not only myself as the client but also of a very particular design review panel. Recommend without hesitation." - Mike Leary

"Michael has been instrumental in the process of achieving a paragraph 80 approval from the Royal institute of British architects, his landscape design for the site has achieved one of the best biodiversity net gains for a site of its size 39.56%. I would highly recommend using his services for any similar projects " - Neil Richards
